Shed Floor On 4x4 Skids

Skids skids are the primary supports and depending on the size of your shed can range anywhere in size from 4x4 to 6x6.

A skid for the most part will be a treated 4 x4 piece of lumber that will run perpendicular to your floor joists. May be lifted onto tractor trailer truck or a crane. Square the corners and level the lumber with each other. Place pressure treated 4 x4 or 4 x6 6 x6 timbers on the gravel in the same dimensions as the shed.

The stone will aid in drainage and reduce splash back. Sheds on skids are less expensive to base.
